About June

I'm June Harlow. I'm 63, I live in Ohio, and I spent most of my working life as a school librarian.
I was told I had prediabetes at 50 and didn't do much about it. I had type 2 diabetes by 54. At 58, my feet started burning at night. I spent a whole winter sleeping with my feet sticking out from under the covers before anyone said the word neuropathy to me.
Why I started this notebook
When I went looking for answers, I found two kinds of pages. Medical sites that were correct but cold, and sales pages that promised the moon. Neither one sounded like a person whose feet hurt at 2 a.m.
So I did what librarians do. I read the studies, I kept a notebook by the bed, and I wrote down what I tried and how my nights went. This site is that notebook, cleaned up so it can help someone else.
What I am, and what I'm not
I'm not a doctor, a nurse or a pharmacist. I'm someone who lives with neuropathy and knows how to check a source. Nothing here is medical advice, and you'll see me say so.
Every study I mention is linked so you can read it yourself. I grade what I find as good evidence, some evidence or early research, and I tell you when something doesn't have much behind it.
How this site makes money
Some pages have affiliate links. If you buy through one, The Neuropathy Notebook may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That money keeps the site going. It doesn't change what the research says, and I only point to products whose ingredients line up with the research I've read. Read the full disclosure.
